KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS
WINNER OF THE LUDENS CHALLENGE CONTEST

Participation in the Ludens Challenge competition organized by Kojima Productions.

The goal of the competition was to create an artwork based on the theme of homo ludens, which is the official mascot of Kojima Productions, whose head serves as the logo.

​

The official website presentation video at the time featured a representation of homo ludens planting the company flag on the moon. My idea was to create a satellite view of the location where the mascot placed the flag. The atmosphere is intentionally ultra-technological to match the initial spirit of the video and the mascot. The image itself is a photobashing composed of a multitude of real satellite photos of the moon. It represents the logo as a mountainous relief, and its purpose was to expand the universe of the video by providing it with context.

Entries for the competition were selected by a jury composed, among others, of Yoji Shinkawa, the famous illustrator of the Metal Gear game series. My proposal was one of the winning entries for the competition and was featured in the official Kojima Productions calendar throughout 2021.
